Once again, a good turn out at Knockaloe for the Royal Manx Agricultural show on the 12th and 13th of August. The Ellan Vannin Fuels crew were ready for the crowds that we now expect at our stand along with our partners. The children were entertained with pig racing and kept looking pretty with wild and wonderful designs from our fabulous, resident face painter, Kim. There were also competitions to win an HD tablet and an Ipod touch while the grown ups had the opportunity to win fuel vouchers and a Nissan Xtrail worth £30,000 hosted by our partners at 3FM! Sadly, nobody won the car this year. Expert Technical advice was on hand with Chris from Assure Heating and he was even offering a free boiler service to one lucky customer in a raffle draw.
We were joined by our friends from the Community policing team and the police Youth Scheme cadets who brought along a range of interesting activities for the ‘little ones’ which included a set of stocks entitled, ‘Soak the copper’! Our brave boys and girls in blue were bombarded by wet sponges for the entire show, doing a fantastic job helping to raise funds for the MHA IOM Live at Home Schemes who were also with us for the show. A great two days of fun and teamwork that raised an amazing £1,500 for the charity. Thank you to everyone who participated, helped and joined us in the fun. See you again next year.
