September of 2015 saw the second Ellan Vannin Fuels Adventure challenge. The event was first launched in 2014 and was such a great success with local youth teams that it went international in 2015 with teams coming from the UK and Europe to the island to compete. Organised by the IOM Police Cadets, the event was staged over three days and the first evening began with fun activities on Peel beach as an introduction for all the teams before the competition started at Ardwhallan the following day. The challenges were set in the hills, forest and water stages giving all the competitors a chance to show their skills in different areas with activities including rock climbing, mountain biking, an assault course and crewing their own boats for challenges on West Baldwin lake. The local teams played host to the visitors and it was a great opportunity for them to create new friendships and showcase the island’s beauty and wonderful outdoor lifestyle but the underlying theme for the event was to have FUN. Once again, His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood and Chief Constable Gary Roberts kindly presented the awards and trophy to this year’s winners, the Isle of Man Pony Club.
